Do I order my child's recital costume?
No! Don't you worry about that! We've got you covered. We have measured your dancer, selected their costumes and placed the order for you.
Do I take home my child's costume?
Yes! You will take your child's costume home with you. It will be your responsibility to keep up with the costumes and accessories for recital day and picture day.
Do I have to pay anything on Picture Day?
No! Just come and join in on the fun! Who doesn't love a great day of dressing up and taking photos? Group pictures and individual pictures taken; there will be a viewing day for you to see the photos and purchase the ones that you love. Picture day will be on May 6th at JM Studios. A detailed schedule haws been emailed to all students and is posted inside the studio building.
Do I pay anything to watch the recital?
Nope! It is completely free to you, your friends and family! Your recital fee covers your admission and we want you to bring the whole crew with you to support your dancer.
Do I have to (or can I) stay back stage with my dancer during the recital?
No! We have staff and assistants at recital who are assigned to each class. Our studio owner, staff and volunteers will take care of your dancers. We want you to just sit back and enjoy the evening. Parents will not be allowed to enter the dressing room. You will drop your dancer off at the dressing room door and a staff member will lead them to the right place.
Do I have to order my dancer's recital t-shirt and what is this for?
You know we are always taking care of you! You do not have to order your dancer's recital t-shirt and it is already covered in your recital fee. We will try on sample sizes we will have the recital shirt to you before recital day. If you would like additional shirts for your dancer or one for yourself, you must order one through the Google Form at the top of this page. Just click the "Order Additional Recital Shirts" button. Your dancer will wear their shirt in our studio photo and in the recital finale.
Why do you charge a recital fee?
Our recitals are a production. Much time and effort goes into making this day one to remember. Our $110 recital fee covers free admission for all guests, trophies for each participant, music license, event insurance, staff compensation, venue rental, DVD of the show and event t-shirt.
When is show time? How early can I arrive? When do I need to drop my dancer off?
Showtime: 5pm
Doors Open: 4pm
Dancer Arrival Time:
Ages 5 and under arrive at 3:45pm
Ages 6-10 arrive at 3:30pm
Ages 11+ arrive at 3:15pm
Opening Number Members ( you will be notified if you are in the opening): 2:30pm
Once you arrive you will be drop your dancer off with a staff member at the front door. You will then be allowed to enter the building at 4pm. This keeps congestion down. Please plan accordingly and remember that it will be HOT outside. If you feel comfortable leaving and coming back, you are welcome to do that.
Where do I pick my dancer up after the show? Can I take my dancer home early?
The show is over already?! How sad. We know you will be ready to grab some dinner and get home so we want to help you get out quickly. Your child's safety is our number one priority. We do not want any dancers leaving without a staff member seeing them out, so please be patient with us. We will help your dancer gather their belongings and head out the dressing area. You will not be allowed into the dressing area as some kids will still be dressing, packing, etc. You will not be allowed to take your dancer home early. We want to ensure that everyone at the show can enjoy recital without being interrupted. Our dancers have also worked very hard during the year and deserve a crowd to watch them.
Can I purchase a gift for my dancer and bring it to recital?
Of course! Who doesn't love gifts? We know you want to show your dancer how proud you are of her/him.
